Schwartz Law Group, Legal Assistant, Kelly Volpe recently decided to take a few days off with her husband George and visit the Big Apple. Unlike most of us who would have enjoyed a Broadway show, some shopping and a few good meals, Kelly decided to take a run. Why not, after all the weather was beautiful and the leaves were turning on the trees, a sight she doesn't get to see in Florida. So off she went.
The race is 26.2 miles long and the course for the marathon takes in all five of New York's boroughs. It starts in Staten Island at the Western end of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and passes through Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx before finishing in Manhattan's iconic Central Park, outside the famous Tavern on the Green.
Kelly had two goals, finish the race and do it in under six hours. Those of us that work with Kelly never had any doubt she would be successful. Kelly competed in her first ever New York City Marathon on November 6th and completed the race with a time of 5:51 hours.
